We spend a lot of time focusing on the technology, like Enterprise Content Management (ECM), which helps us manage our peer-to-peer communication in the workplace. The social media components of an ECM system provide us the tools to make our work universe considerably smaller, and expose us to valuable relationships outside of our core peer group. But, as our personal networks expand, it becomes easier to forget about the importance of managing the relationships that are closest to us, those which impact our day-to-day activities. Edward Muzio of Group Harmonics talks to us about Role Set Theory and how, by managing our primary role set, we can become more productive and less stressed at work.
